La BBC Culture ha publicado una selección de las cien mejores películas del siglo XXI, después de consultar a 177 críticos de cine de todo el mundo. Como resultado ha surgido una lista más bien controvertida, tal y como suele ocurrir cuando se publican listas de este tipo.
La selección ha dado lugar a todo tipo de comentarios, ya que no parece haber un criterio exacto a la hora de elegir las películas y, además, algunos fans han reaccionado por la inclusión de algunos títulos que no tuvieron una gran acogida y ni tampoco la historia los ha acabado catalogando como obras de culto.
